Join us aboard the historic USS Orleck
for Museum Ships On The Air Weekend on June 6-7!
The Jacksonville Naval Museum is proud to participate alongside museum ships and amateur radio operators from around the world in this exciting international event. Hosted in partnership with the North Florida Amateur Radio Society (NOFARS) and guest operators from across the region, visitors will have the opportunity to watch live amateur (HAM) radio communications from aboard one of America’s most decorated destroyers.
This year, operators will be broadcasting under the Orleck Amateur Radio Society (OARS) club call sign: WJ4DD. The Museum Ships Weekend amateur radio event takes place June 6โ7, 2026. During this 48-hour global event, ham radio operators broadcast directly from the decks of historic vessels, allowing enthusiasts to contact over 100 participating ships worldwide
